Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Crew Supervisor and general direction of the Machine Chief Team Leader and/or Technicians performs the following duties:
Operates equipment associated with processing of formed Pipe Insulation including saws, printers, glue applicators, etc.- Observes the uncured material for quality defects and when required feeds uncured material to the forming equipment to meet production standards.
- Assists in machine set-ups and order changes as required, and otherwise contributes to the efficient production of quality product in conformance with product specs, production schedules and performance standards. Uses SPC data as required to make changes.
- Obtains bulk rolls of facings from storage. Efficiently set up and operate cutting equipment producing a product in conformance with product specs.
- Must be proficient in operating all aspects of the auto facing operation to produce a quality product while minimizing waste within the operation.
- Able to maintain production rates on the auto facing tables.
- When required obtains and applies facing material to Pipe Insulation using the semi automatic operation. Maintains and adjusts adhesive spray equipment and proper alignment of the jacket to the pipe insulation.
- Makes up packaging cartons and packages finished Pipe Insulation per specifications. Encloses proper butt strips in filled cartons.
- Inspects each piece of Pipe Insulation for visual defects before packaging. Notifies Machine Chief, Supervisor, Team Leader or Technician of any significant problems.
- Aids Machine Chief in providing uncured to the production machines on a first in first out basis when required.
- Keeps accurate production records, places clock number in designated area on carton, and does other clerical duties as directed.
- Operates forklift loading, unloading, moving materials. Handles and hauls waste and scrap as necessary.
- Maintains work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
- Provides training, relief and assistance to other employees as directed.
- Uses safe work practices at all times and counsels others to do the same.
- May be required to perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience:
- Minimum of two years industrial experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
