University Orthopaedic Associates, a Division of OrthoNJ, is a leading orthopedic practice which provides a full spectrum of orthopedic care. Our board certified surgeons, each with subspecialty training, offer the best care in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement, traumatology, hand and upper extremity surgery, foot and ankle surgery and surgery of the spine.

We have an exciting full time opportunity for you to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in our Wall/ Morganville office.

To qualify, you must be a state licensed LPN or RN. A minimum of one (1) year of previous orthopedic nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities: LPN/ RN will assist the Physician, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistants in various aspects of patients’ medical treatment and care. LPN or RN will maintain the exam rooms and equipment and ensure the orderly flow of the physician’s patient schedule. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting area to the exam room; prepares patient for their examination or treatment; obtains pertinent medical information from patient.
  • Assist physician in the removal & application of casts, change dressings, remove staples & sutures, & ultrasound machines.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms; maintain clean treatment areas and exam rooms.
  • Responds to & triages incoming telephone calls; instructs patient and family regarding treatment.
  • Performs patient education when appropriate
  • Replenish supplies in stock rooms and pharmaceutical supplies and samples as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality; adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Keep medical records in accordance with procedures and forms
