Job Summary

Responsible for the daily operation of scheduling, executing, and providing documentation for the logistical processes of export shipments. As a key contributor to the movement of inventory and under the direction of the supervisor, this position will work closely with internal and external customers, freight carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers to proactively manage the logistics process and is responsible for the flow of communication regarding the status of inventory. Provide logistical support consisting of but not limited to: general logistical reports, tracking/tracing, pre-container arrival activities, scheduling containers, international cross docking.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

-Acts as a liaison between Carriers, Forwarders, Customs Brokers, and Govt Agencies to facilitate clearance procedures and escalates to supervisor any critical issues. (30%)

- Maintains and monitors data base of HTS codes and ensures system properly updated with correct code. (10%)

-Obtains freight quotes and arranges for cost effective transportation of export shipments and maintains it through delivery. (10%)

-Reviews freight bills for pricing/billing discrepancies and ensure properly coded for payment purposes. (20%)

-Prepares export documentation as required, including commercial invoice, manifest, BOL, packing declaration, EEI/AES filing and etc. Coordinates and transmits shipping information/documentation to foreign offices as necessary. (20%)

-Assists DC with international operational requests (rate quotations, transit times, shipment status) and special projects as needed. (5%)

-Reviews Vendor Routing Guide to provide correct shipping information to vendors (domestic freight). (5%)

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, Certification, and Experience

- High school diploma with applicable experience.

- 1 or more years of related experience, Supply Chain, Intl Logistics or Ocean/Air transportation etc.

- Ability to understand and interpret Harmonized Tariff Codes and extensive knowledge of import and export rules and regulations.

- Familiarity with international transportation marketplace and freight systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

- Mathematical skills and statistical knowledge.

- Possess proven problem analysis and solution development skills.

- Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment.

- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

- General knowledge of warehouse procedures and environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,600.00 per year
