Job description
R.J. Corman Railroad Switching is seeking safety minded experienced, certified Engineer to work with, and coordinate with switch engine crews placing cars to facilitate loading and unloading and the makeup and breakdown on trains in an industrial plant.
**Starting Pay - $19.85**
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all train orders, signals, and railroad rules and regulations for safe operations
- Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone
- Perform locomotive inspections daily
- Read and understand bulletins, work orders, and switch lists
- Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars
- Wear protective equipment including hearing protection, safety-toe boots, and safety glasses
- Work hours includes 12-hour workday, and rotating shifts, (night, weekend, Holidays etc.)
- Must be okay with working outside in all weather conditions
- Complete annual training and pass safety operating rules examination
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform physically strenuous work
- Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner
- Requires frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80lbs
- Able to push and pull with up to 150lbs of force
- Able to pass hearing and vision evaluation
Environmental Conditions: Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions
Must be able to pass drug screen, background, and physical capacity test.
