Summary: Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner. Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries by performing the following duties.Local deliveries only, in Grand Rapids, Mi.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner.

• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.

• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.

• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.

• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.

• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.

• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.

• Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas

• Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines

• Attends and participates in staff meetings

• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety and health regulations

Education/ Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent. A valid Michigan commercial driver’s license. Being knowledgeable of and following all road safety laws and regulations. A clean driving record and experience working in the field is preferred but not required.

Math Ability: Ability to read a tape measurer and calipers. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to see color.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
