Position Overview:

The Collateral Lien Release & Lien Perfection Processor is responsible processing collateral lien release and lien perfection documents for consumer and commercial loans. The processor prepares lien release documents and processes lien perfection documents for various types of collateral including real estate, vehicle titles, UCC filings, stock certificates and saving/CD accounts. The Collateral Lien Release & Lien Perfection Processor demonstrates high standards for quality, quantity and a high concentration level for protecting the loan assets of the bank. This position will support the Collateral Release and Perfection Team. The Processor also demonstrates a high level of customer service with internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

30% Productivity: Meets productivity goals within established time frames (measured by Service Level Agreements). Meets our strategic goal of reduction in expenses YOY.

30% Service Quality: Delivers on our service promise in Loan Ops (measured by Service Level Agreements, customer feedback, error reports)

20% Risk Management: Quality and accuracy (measured by PEM or various auditors). Ensuring sound risk management and internal controls are met

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Responsible for ensuring proper preparation of collateral lien release documents within the required SLA time frame
  • Responsible for processing Consumer and Commercial Paid Loan Reports
  • Responsible for processing Consumer and Commercial Integrity Reports
  • Responsible for processing consumer and commercial legacy loan release requests
  • Responsible for communicating with state and county recording clerk’s offices
  • Responsible for the accurate placement of collateral release documents in ARX imaging system
  • Responsible for processing consumer and commercial collateral lien perfection documents within the required SLA time frame
  • Responsible for ensuring First Horizon Bank’s lien is accurately placed on the appropriate collateral documents
  • Responsible for communicating with Third Party vendors
  • Responsible for communicating with internal customers to ensure all collateral documents are accurate for lien placement
  • Responsible for the accurate placement of collateral lien perfection documents in ARX
  • Maintain compliance with policy and procedures
  • Work with others to ensure that the entire team’s work is within SLA
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure proper communication
  • Responsible for procedure/system testing or assisting with procedure writing
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service to our internal and external customers

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma with 2 – 5 years of experience in lending or related field required. College degree with Loan - Consumer and/or Commercial experience, or experience working with or identifying loan documents.


Knowledge - General banking products or lending knowledge


Skills – Strong written and verbal communications skills; Teamwork/Teambuilding skills; General office skills including: typing, filing (alphabetically and numerically), and applicable technology (ARX, ALS, FDR, Hogan, etc.); High attention to detail and concentrate on work in spite of distractions; Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook); Strong organizational and prioritization skills are needed
