Lifeguards
Facilities: Pierre Moran Pool and Ideal Beach
Shifts and Pay
- Varied shifts, including holidays and weekends
- Starting at $14 per hour
- The season runs from late May to the middle of August
Experience
- Must be at least 15 years old with reliable transportation to and from work
- Must have successfully passed the American Red Cross lifeguarding class - class will be offered prior to employment
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred but not required
- Good swimming skills are necessary
Job Duties
- Responsible for the safety of pool patrons by preventing accidents and responding quickly to emergency situations
- Must follow and enforce facility policies and rules at all times
- Perform routine maintenance to the facility - sweeping, picking up trash, cleaning restrooms, etc.
- Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with both the public and staff
- Participate in in-service training
Certifications
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding or Waterfront Lifeguarding (Certification courses available - Please call 574-295-7275 for more information.)
- CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
- First Aid
- Oxygen Administration is preferred but not required
A background check and pre-employment drug test are required.
