We are looking for a Lifecycle Engineering Program Manager to join our growing Maternal and Infant Care business unit of GE Healthcare that works on developing innovative products provide exceptional care to women and their newborn babies. The Program Manager is responsible for leading wing-to-wing responsibility within Engineering for the following areas of business operations: Product Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Installed Base operations, Franchise variable cost productivity (VCP) and On Time Delivery (OTD). Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide tactical leadership for all engineering actions impacting OTD, such as engineering changes, product quality holds, etc. Collaborate with Engineering Product Owners (EPO) and Global Eng. and cross-functional teams for all other drivers.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Lead business critical installed base (IB) programs by collaborating with EPO’s and ensure timely buy-in on overall approach/strategies working closely with Global QA/RA leadership.
  • Partner with Factory Product Quality champion to develop strong funnel with justifiable business case to improve the factory Yield and partner with EPOs for execution strategies.
  • Partnering with EPOs and the Customer Satisfaction leader and global engineering on customer escalations where engineering resolution needed.
  • Partner with Product managers and Functional Leaders (such as Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Supply Chain) to set the strategy and ensure cost improvement projects are aligned with MIC business priorities and new product roadmaps.
  • Lead and manage Franchise Variable Cost Productivity funnel, VCP trackers, etc. Focus on delivering critical cost reduction projects and other activities to meet business goals.
  • Lead and drive VCP idea activation by developing and quantifying business cases through comprehensive cost, benefit and return on investment analysis, identifying short term quick wins and long-term high impact opportunities with out of box thinking and a Lean Start-up mindset
  • Lead and drive VCP program execution by improving global and cross functional communication and operations planning around critical business processes such as engineering design changes, supply chain and commercial phase in phase out to shorten VCP program cycle time and maximize contribution margin improvement with Smart Simplification approach
  • Lead and drive development and improvement of VCP data base, data analytics, and VCP tools.
  • Manage cross functional Disruptive Cost Workout processes and Lean activities that will result in productivity improvements across segments and functions.
  • Establish, lead, train, and motivate cross-functional team(s). Provide direction, functional support, resource allocation, and remove obstacles that impact productivity.
  • Drive effective communication across the MIC portfolio and functions by reporting on VCP and Lean Work Out accomplishments to team members, Global Business Leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and drive simplification by focusing on productivity improvements and enhancing a Lean culture and mindset across MIC
  • Apply lean principles: review, develop and implement process changes that result in increased efficiency.
  • Develop rigorous metrics, scorecards, and control plans to follow up and measure the changes. Partner with process owners, project leaders, and the Senior Leadership team to ensure changes occur and that improvement gains are sustained and measurable.

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control stage gate milestones
  • Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications / Requirements

  • BS Degree in Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited University
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering, VCP, NPI program, sourcing, supply chain, or service experience
  • Willing to travel up to 20%
  • Proven leadership in driving high impact projects in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders with high visibility
  • Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards
  • Strong business acumen and finance understanding
  • Strong engineering design, new product introduction, sourcing, supply chain background
  • Strategic and forward thinking with strong execution capability
  • Resourceful, strong track record in delivering results with speed
  • Strong analytical skills, prioritizing and fast decision-making capability
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, demonstrated leadership to work with global and cross functional teams

The salary range for this position is $144,000.00 - $216,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include health, welfare, retirement and paid leave.
