Job description
Network2Work@PVCC identifies individuals left behind in our economy and connects them to quality careers that pay family-sustaining wages. Using custom-built technology, Network2Work@PVCC aligns three networks: the employer network, a job-seeker network and the resource provider network. The Life & Career Coach is part of the job-seeker network and provides individual assistance and advising to job-seekers enrolling in Network2Work@PVCC to help them identify and achieve their life and career goals.
The Life & Career Coach will enroll job-seekers and, with the assistance of a custom-built technology platform, chart their pathway to a chosen job using the technology platform n2work.org. The pathway connects job-seekers to community-based resources that remove barriers to employment using a closed loop referral system. The Life & Career Coach will assess interest and aptitude for the chosen career pathway and provide personalized advice and guidance on career development. Following enrollment, the Life & Career Coach will provide on-going support and guidance for dealing with barriers to success. The Life & Career Coach will ensure that their job-seekers are making progress along their charted pathway, act as a job-seeker advocate, assist them in obtaining the necessary material resources to meet basic needs when the resource provider network does not provide what is needed, and refer job-seekers where indicated to program partners for emotional and behavioral counseling. Assigns volunteer Navigators, if using.
