Work requires possession of a current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.Work requires three to six months' orientation to acquire necessary familiarity with policies, nursing procedures, and techniques within assigned patient care area and meet the core competencies required for working with adult patients.
Position requires analytical ability and sound nursing knowledge for effective collection of patient data, treatment planning, implementation of patient care, and documentation of pertinent information regarding patient's condition.
Work requires interpersonal skills to interact effectively with psychiatrically ill adult patients in order to gain their cooperation, allay apprehensions and provide effective health teaching to patients and family members (51-80% of work time).
