Job Summary and Qualifications

What will you do in this role:

• 
  Gives direct patient care based on knowledge of principles and practice of licensed practical nurse.
• Assumes duties of medication nurse capably and with full knowledge of actions and untoward effects of medication being dispensed.
• Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient
• Observes, records, and reports to the registered nurse the patient’s symptoms, reactions and progress
• Assists in patient education, rehabilitation, and maintenance of health
• Collaborates with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status
• Assists patients with all activities of daily living including but not limited to the bathing, positioning, range of motion, eliminating and ambulation
• Functions as preceptor for new employees and students

What qualifications you will need:

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Current State of Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or active Compact State LPN/LVN license required
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic nursing skills including phlebotomy
