Legal Clerk – There are Multiple Positions Available
The Circuit Clerk of Champaign County is hiring several individuals to fill the position of Legal Clerk. Motivated, quick-learning individuals will be trained in all tasks necessary to comprehend and maintain court files, and to work with all courthouse users.
Applicants must be hard-working with a strong work ethic, and possess excellent attention to detail, good reasoning skills, and outstanding communication skills. The ability to interact courteously with the public over the phone and in person is a must. The applicant must have proficient skills with keyboarding (touch-typing preferred), modern office equipment and procedures, mathematics, spelling, and the English Language.
Proficiency in a second language is a plus. Familiarity with filing systems or cash management is preferred. Applicants will frequently work with the public and carry, lift, push, and/or pull case files.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, together with one year of related experience.
Wage: $16.01/hour

This is a Bargaining Unit position pursuant to the Circuit Clerk's contract with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
