The Talent Development Specialist is responsible for creating and facilitating a professional development for schools based on the schools’ and teachers’ individual needs. Additionally, this role will be responsible for new teacher induction for schools that are assigned; both the implementation and analysis of the outcomes.

  • Coordinate with school leaders to develop a professional development needs analysis and plan;
  • Prepare Face to Face (F2F) and virtual professional development opportunities for each school within assigned region;
  • Collaborate with local/regional/national teams regarding instruction, resources, interventions and data-driven decision making;
  • Partner with the hiring manager to ensure that positions are filled;
  • Communicate with all new teacher hires that are assigned;
  • Provide opportunities for teachers within specific subjects/grade bands the opportunity to connect across regions;
  • Report on teacher performance and progress;
  • Set goal for classroom specific to academics, growth and retention;
  • Assess effectiveness of school-based trainings and presents the results to stakeholders;
  • Design and execute regional face to face New Teacher Training Induction, both at school launch and as needed for mid-year hires;
  • Create opportunities for new teachers to job shadow experienced teachers from the same subject area/ grade level;
  • Host live trainings with teachers illustrating the virtual classroom tools and how to effectively engage their students;
  • Manage collaborative space where new teachers will share best practices, participate in discussions, participate in problems of practice;
  • Ensure new teachers are receiving weekly support from a variety of sources;
  • Build communities and participates in committees.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or similar field of study AND
  • Three (3) years of related experience in talent development, educational training or related position OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of effective training methodologies and a true passion for working with adult learners
  • Experience in instructional design
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time
  • Microsoft Office 365; Web proficiency.
  • Ability to clear required background check

  • This is a home-based position. This position is open to residents of, and may be performed remotely from Washington, D.C., and from any state except Colorado.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $37,306 to $74,268.17. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
