Lead Residential Assistant

Time required: Full-time (3), weekdays 3p-11p (1) weekend day 8a-11p. Four-day work week. MELROSE MA

Summary: To assist the Residential Manager in the development and implementation of a comprehensive day and employment program for assigned individual(s).

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans.
  • Monitor the individuals medications and coordinate with the pharmacy if orders are needed
  • Monitor and ensure that assigned individual(s) receives his/her prescribed medication, and that the medication administration record has been completed correctly each day.
  • Ensure all required documentation including logs, progress notes, data and Incident/Accident (IA) reports are completed.
  • Monitor individual and house expenditures related to day and employment programming.
  • Attend individual team meetings and ISP meetings as requested.
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the individualized day and employment program for assigned individual(s) including crisis intervention, on-call notifications, on-shift parent/guardian communication, and individuals’ programming.
  • Ensure the implementation of all individualized programming in accordance with each ISP and daily activity schedule.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field preferred; Associates required.
  • At least two years of experience in a direct-care facility, preferably in a residential setting with a similar population; education may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate supervisory and administrative skills.
  • A valid driver's license
  • Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.
  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or the ability to obtain MAP certification within first 90 days of employment
  • Reliable transportation to residential homes located in Massachusetts
