Title: LEAD Human Trafficking Survivor Services Team
On-Site, In Person Direct Services, and Remote Phone Services
Hourly rate: $20.00 per + $0.50 Bi-lingual Incentive
Full-time 40 hrs/wk: Monday – Friday 9:00a-6:00p (some evenings & weekends)

JOB OVERVIEW:
This position reports to the Human Trafficking Survivor Services Program Manager, is a member of the Family Violence Intervention Services and Human Trafficking Department. Is responsible for assisting the Program Managers with coordination of the day-to-day operations of the hotline, human trafficking shelter, Community Based Services. Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate advocacy and case management services to help survivors heal from their trauma and establish their autonomy. Serves as a domestic violence counselor as stated in California Evidence Code 1037.1 as well as a Human Trafficking Caseworker pursuant to Evidence Code 1038.2.
GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Supports the Program Manager in leading the shelter & community-based services including but not limited to oversight of the daily operations, relationship building with community partners & grant compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison for case managers to support client appointments, such as coordinating the usage of company vehicles, and facility sites for client related appointments.
  • Assist Program Manager with researching funding opportunities, grant applications and reporting.
  • Support program manager in hiring, on-boarding of HT staff & volunteers, and identify areas of new training or skill building for staff.
  • Provide oversight of all shelter facility maintenance & repairs coordination including maintaining all health and safety requirements, both inside and outside.
  • Oversee client basic needs purchases including groceries and supplies as well as petty cash submission and reimbursement process ensuring they are completed efficiently and accurately in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate vehicle upkeep, including ensuring gas receipts are completed and turned in timely, cleanliness, routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide support to case managers regarding client concerns and meet with clients to problem solve and remedy.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regularly scheduled case plan meetings to collaborate across departments for continuity of care for clients.
  • Participate in direct client service-related meetings, i.e. Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force Victim Services Subcommittee.
  • Develop appropriate relationships and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Maintain lines of communication with supervisors regarding programs, clients, volunteers and staffing in a timely manner.
  • Support a positive working environment and work successfully as a member of a team.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, volunteer and in-service trainings.
  • Serve as the point of contact for direct client services with case managers, therapists, community services, and facilities contractors.
  • Collaborate with Victim Services Coordinator for referrals to community-based services, HEART House, and current MOU’s.
  • Assist with grant reporting, quality assurance, and monitoring of program documentation, and assessments, ensure timely collection of program data.
  • Respond immediately by phone or in person to victims and other callers through the 24/7 crisis hotline and provide crisis counseling, information and appropriate referrals including but not limited to participating in intake process, placement and/or relocation of clients.
  • Participate in community outreach and family violence prevention/awareness activities including speaking engagements, trainings and groups.
  • Serve as a liaison with community partners and volunteers and attend community and collaborative meetings as needed.
  • Provide direct supervision of volunteers including their scheduling and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualifications include two years or more experience working with individuals and families in a crisis intervention capacity or in a residential facility, B.A. in psychology, sociology, criminal justice. Experience with residential oversight or in a lead role preferred. Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations, as well as possess strong skills in decision making, case management, conflict resolution, leadership and excellent time management skills. Must be able to prioritize tasks, organize thoughts and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Requires flexibility with schedule as crisis situations may necessitate staff to respond outside of normal schedule. Must be sensitive and competent to serve clients from diverse cultures. Must have completed or be willing to complete the required 60-hour domestic violence and human trafficking trainings within 3 months of hire.

Must maintain the confidentiality of the shelter locations as well as information pertaining to clients receiving services. Requires ability to collaborate with agency staff and community partners while demonstrating exemplary customer service. Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office, internet and comfortable providing support to clients utilizing multiple telehealth platforms. Successful background and criminal clearance required and maintained, including but not limited to California Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI, Child Abuse Index and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Proof of a valid California Drivers License, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance (listed as covered), pass and maintain driving approval as required by our insurer. Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
