Job Description

This position will be in Springfield, MO and provides operational support and daily supervision of the undergraduate teaching program and participates in curriculum review and educational research projects.

  • Daily resource for/supervision of 3 clerkship coordinators.
  • Primary clinical and didactic contact for CoxHealth and Mercy hospital systems and affiliated local healthcare organizations Jordan Valley Health Center, Burrell Behavioral Health, and U. S. Federal Medical Center for Federal Prisoners.
  • Primary resource for 14 Associate Clerkship Directors and approximately 300 volunteer physician faculty.
  • Primary resource/contact for student’s clinical and curriculum requirements. Anticipated volume of 28-32 each for third- and fourth-year classes.
  • Work collaboratively with Faculty Affairs as clinical resource to onboard new physician faculty.
  • Responsible to ensure coordination of all clerkships, selectives and electives for Springfield students, and Columbia student rotations in Springfield. Student rotations are coordinated based on preceptor availability. Ensure lectures for each rotation, and coordination is also done with the Columbia campus in order to schedule Zoom lectures for content not available in Springfield.
    • The same process is required for scheduled lectures every block. Coordination is also done with the Columbia campus to schedule zoom lectures for content not available in Springfield, this varies every block.
  • Springfield liaison to Clinical Curriculum Steering Committee and Curriculum Board.
  • Develop new clinical electives & selectives; work in conjunction with Springfield physician-preceptors for content and submission through the approval process.
  • Assist with Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) processes and tracking mechanisms. The LCME is the accreditation body for all medical schools
  • Coordination, management, and implementation of elective requirements. Currently 28 M4 students every block. Periodically throughout the academic year, M3’s may also request an elective based on schedule availability.
  • Coordination and scheduling for Summer Clinical Experiences.
  • Work in collaboration with Student Services and the Columbia campus Medical Education Office to ensure students meet graduation requirements.

Salary

Salary Range: $65,776 - $80,776 annually

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Self-motivated professional with a background in a health related field and familiarity with medical terminology.
