The Marriott Orlando Downtown Hotel in Orlando, FL is searching for a Laundry Attendant to join our team. Located in the Creative Village in downtown Orlando, the hotel has 297 guest rooms with views of the downtown Orlando Skyline. This great full-service Marriott Hotel has 15 meeting rooms with 15,992 sq. ft. of space, an onsite Starbucks, Shade Bar and Grill, Fitness Center, and Outdoor Pool.

Job summary:

Our Laundry Attendants have an eye for details and understands the importance of clean and fresh linen and towels. They work well in a team, synchronize their efforts to ensure the housekeepers have the linen timely to prepare guest rooms.

Duties and Functions:

Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.

Load and unload washes according to standards.

Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc.

Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc.

Pre-treat all stained linen before washing.

Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.

Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of day.

Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor.

Fold towels and linens.

Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.

Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.

Maintain clean work area.

Sort clean laundry according to type and load carts.

Separate out laundry requiring mending or special stain removal.

Stacking clean items into laundry bins to be delivered to the guest room floors or Food & Beverage areas.

Adhere by safety and sanitization regulations as instructed by OSHA and the Company

Be able to maintain productivity standards on a daily basis.

Keeps work area and assigned machine clean.

Performs any other task required by the Housekeeping Manager or Supervisor

Encourages a positive attitude among employees and treat other employees (and the guests) with courtesy and respect.

Completes any other duties as assigned by management.

Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment including

Safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines

Follow Hazardous Material Management Program

Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE)

Use the Lockout/Tag-out system before performing any maintenance work.

Use correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
