Position Summary:

Launch Success Coaches are responsible for building authentic, affirming relationships, where each young adult's cultural roots, lived experience, and dreams of the future are nurtured and supported. Coaches provide support around education, life skills, workforce development, financial empowerment, and navigating the various systems to meet basic needs. Launch Success Coaches are trusted advisors and mentors, walking beside participants as they lead and navigate the paths of their own adulthood.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage assigned young adult caseload, using established procedures, practices and policies.
  • Effectively build psychologically safe and affirming working relationships with assigned young adults in order to teach and assist with goal setting, skill building, problem solving, financial security and other necessary skills for building self-determination.
  • Responsible for engaging in participant centered, consistent communication with participants.
  • Responsible for providing post-secondary and apprenticeship support to young adults.
  • Responsible for resource navigation, connecting participants to educational/vocational training, job attainment and retention, housing, food and life stability.
  • Responsible for maintaining complete, accurate and updated records of your work with clients, including recording case notes, completion of consent forms and review and update records regularly.
  • Responsible for building networks of support with participants to establish community, resource support and independence between 18 and 26 years old.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High level of integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility, compassion, humor, creativity, and bravery necessary to address the practicalities of providing anti-racist, inclusive coaching.
  • Ability to set boundaries and utilize support services to manage the personal impact of working with youth who have been placed at risk.
  • Prior experience coaching, mentoring, teaching.
  • Ability and aptitude with online database systems to maintain records and data to support effective evaluation processes and analysis and use program data to inform decision making and service delivery strategies.
  • Ability to work independently outside of a business office while maintaining relationships with coworkers and managers.
  • Deep commitment to racial equity and social justice and ability to effectively engage in candid conversations about diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate successfully through multiple platforms such as text, email or phone.
  • Knowledge of educational and community resources available for housing, basic needs, education, vocational training, and work attainment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with individuals of various ages, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities.
  • Ability and aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology necessary for successful day-today functioning in a business environment.
  • Ability to thrive working remotely and independently outside of a business office while maintaining relationships with coworkers and managers.
  • Clear nationwide criminal background check and driving record background check.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time
  • Monday-Friday
  • Frequent evenings and occasional weekends
  • Frequent local travel to attend meetings on behalf of youth
  • Travel requirements vary per assignment and will change depending on the needs of the caseload.
  • Overnight travel 1-3 weeks a year for trainings, conferences and retreats.

This position pays $25.61 per hour, non-exempt. Treehouse also offers a generous paid time off plan, free medical, dental, vision, and 403(b) plan.

  • Physical Requirements – long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, talking on the phone, working with office/computer equipment, attending meetings and sitting at desk or table while listening, talking and taking notes.
