The landscaping division continues to expand! Opportunities are available for full-time, permanent, year-round work.

The Landscaping Crew Leader will perform and oversee a variety of landscape activities for our clientthroughout the assigned working location on the upper west side of Indianapolis. The landscaping activities will include: planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation. The Landscaping team member my also operate lawn mowers and related equipment and will assist Facilities Maintenance staff on projects as assigned. Landscaping Crew Member does a variety of landscape activities, such as irrigation system maintenance and service, planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, and seasonal lawn preparation.

General Landscaping:

• Oversees team members and performs planting and related activities
• Performs routine lawn maintenance including grass cutting, lawn edging, weed pulling, and other routine lawn-maintenance activities
• Uses lawn mower and related equipment
• Provides seasonal lawn care, such as spring and fall clean-up
• Moves materials and equipment and performs related duties to assist in landscaping and hardscaping
• Digs holes and trenches and excavates for landscaping and hardscaping using picks and shovels or related equipment
• Hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakes
• Hand-finishes grade, and apply seed, straw, or sod
• Maintains assigned equipment and notifies Landscaping Supervisor of needed repairs
• Responds politely to customer inquiries and projects a professional image
• Loads equipment and materials on and off trucks and trailers
• Performs snow removal activities as assigned, such as shoveling, salting, etc.
• Assist Facilities Maintenance staff on preventive maintenance, work orders, painting and other maintenance projects as assigned

Chemical Treatments:

• Applies chemicals under the direction of a licensed chemical applicator

Special Projects:

• Assist and participate in special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Equivelant experience also accepted
• Valid State Driver’s License and insurable with company’s agent preferred

Experience:

• A minimum of one - three (3) years of experience in landscaping or horticultural work required
• Previous experience in a health care setting preferred

Competencies:

• Ability to train new associates and educate them on processes, systems and equipment
• Have a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices
• Must be able to read and write in English language
• Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the Landscaping leader and local Facilities Leader
• Ability to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
