Job description

Mid-Florida Pathology is looking for an experienced lab aide. An individual who is reliable, responsible, pays attention to detail and a team-player.

The position is daytime with some weekend availability needed.

Lab Aide duties

• Prepares special request ordered by requesting pathologist; pull request worksheet from computer database, indicate on the screen what is pending and match the slides to the worksheet and complete on LIS.
• Receives outside cases for pre-order special staining. Fill in slides that were previously prepared by our lab.
• Responsible for filing, tracking, retrieval, and accurate record keeping of pathology slides.
• Sorts slides and also put them in order to be delivered to Pathologist in a timely manner.
• File slides, block and paperwork in alpha-numeric order.
• Print slides, pull blocks and have all necessary material ready for histo-tech.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the workplace.
• Complies with company and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
• Complies with company and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Laboratory Manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
