Business/Function Overview:



To ensure that site SAP master data is effectively maintained; carry out the site’s label change process in a way that best supports the site’s production schedule and execution of the label procurement function. The position is also responsible for ensuring label related accurate plant inventory through use of the plant inventory cycle counting and reporting process. The position is SAP intensive with transactions covering the creation, change and deletion of resources, master recipes, bill of materials, and material masters for labels, packaging, raw materials, intermediates and finished goods.


Responsibilities:

  • Carry out SAP master data tasks of creation, change and deletion of material masters, resources, recipes, and bills of materials for all products and subassemblies. Applies to the label change process and more generally to all plant raw material, packaging, bulk and finished goods sku’s.
  • Execute the SAP material master interrogation report for Middleport. Identify, problem-solve and correct resultant master data errors.
  • Sustain business relationships with plant procurement team, site operations team, pre-printed packaging suppliers, and label suppliers.
  • Serve as primary contact on label related change activities and affairs with Philadelphia label management function, Global Regulatory function, International label change resources and more generally with Philadelphia Global Supply Chain team. Conduct these interactions in order to assure that SAP master data is correctly maintained, and that pre-printed packaging materials and label are ready to serve procurement and production schedules.
  • For International labels, execute the application of lot numbers, formulation dates, and expiration dates to packaging components, as required by various countries, particularly those in Latin America
  • Communicate with the packaging buyers to ensure that packaging bills of materials are accurate and that component graphics are ready when purchase orders are placed.
  • Administer sample and replacement packaging and labels supply for public warehouses, CSR’s, marketing programs and Sales Org functions.
  • Provide support to quality failure investigations and execution of corrective measures as necessary.
  • Responsible for label inventory accuracy: apply plant A,B,C inventory cycle counting and reporting process to labels and execute the function; conduct label related cycle count adjustments, perform or assist in reconciling label inventory discrepancies, conduct and reconcile monthly label physical inventory at sub-contractors, and assist in the site’s Annual Physical Inventory event.
  • Execute the label retirement function, including disposition of obsolete labels, preprinted packaging and other label related components. Work with Accounting function to write off inventory, flag materials for deletion and remove materials from BOM’s.
  • Co-ordinate and maintain plant label storage areas.
  • Execute all job functions in accord with the ISO 9000 quality manual that apply to this function.
  • Support the Operations Manager’s objectives and responsibilities as they relate to the above activities.
  • Provide back-up support for other plant administrative functions on an as-needed basis.

Required Education:

  • Experience in maintaining master data in SAP and/or ERP system, inventory management, label development/production and associated accounting functions are indicative that the candidate will be effective in handling the position.
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred.
  • A high school degree or equivalent and 2 years or more related experience is required.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Additional preferred characteristics: work experience in an industry regulated by EPA or FDA; working knowledge of the graphics/printing industry.


Qualifications:



  • 2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, SAP, MRP, master data administration
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Proven ability to communicate with vendors and key internal personnel effectively.
  • Possesses team beneficial interpersonal skills; committed to teamwork
  • Knowledgeable in ISO management practices.
  • Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) as well as internet applications.
  • Familiar with accounting transactions related to inventory and product costing.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible yet maintains a sense of urgency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities;
  • Proven ability to handle unplanned events with professionalism, logic and common sense.
  • Ability to use a variety of organizational resources to solve issues and problems.
