Estimated Start date July 1, 2023.
- Prepares and analyzes soil, feed/plant, water, and compost samples in a timely manner
- Responsible for quality control during analyses and corrects any problems that may appear in procedures
- Maintains an inventory of instrument parts/chemicals in the lab
- Upkeep of the lab including dish washing and sample preparation
- Maintains and fixes equipment in the lab as needed and appropriate and works with the Lab Manager to take corrective action on instrument repairs
- Works with clients to answer questions and provides suggestions that fit their needs
- Helps with offices duties, such as sample check-in and payments
- Two years of experience; or an associate degree/vocational training; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
- Knowledge of laboratory instruments, including Elementar, FOSS NIR, and Lachat.
- Knowledge of experimental procedures, protocols, and preparation techniques within soil nutrition
- Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate standard laboratory and test equipment
- Computer skills including spreadsheet and word-processing programs
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and juggle projects
