With guidance from supervision and within established procedures, conducts routine research laboratory activities, information/data management activities or operates small scale production equipment in support of research and development. Identifies and suggests improvements in methods, plans projects of limited duration and scope, troubleshoots when erroneous or unexpected results occur. Responsible for producing research experimental results, or information/data management results, or assembling and configuring of small scale production equipment and control systems utilizing a variety of techniques, effectively documenting findings and communicating results.

Description:-

• The SuperVector group is currently seeking an individual to join the high-throughput vector construction team.

This candidate will work with the team to build and quality control vectors to be delivered to numerous customers using lab protocols and training prescribed by the group.

Responsibilities:-

• Making high quality DNA fragments using various molecular techniques (PCR, restriction digestion, gel electrophoresis).

• Extracting plasmid DNA with commercial kits

• Interacting regularly with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and with automated equipment such as liquid handlers and robotic freezers

• Setting up reactions for vector construction and transforming into appropriate bacterial strains

Qualifications:-

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biological Studies or related field such as Plant Science or Biotechnology is preferred

• Experience working in a lab environment and liquid handlers with aseptic techniques are preferred

• The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, vast attention to detail, and robust organization skills

• This position requires great communication skills and the ability to work with a team as well as individually

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
