About the role
As a Knowledge Management Systems Advisor, you will be responsible for providing advice, guidance, and support in relation to the analysis, implementation, and development of the firm’s knowledge management systems and the knowledge management program generally. Other key responsibilities include:


  • Analyzing knowledge capture and knowledge sharing requirements and providing strategic recommendations as to the implementation and development of the knowledge management program, in consultation with the various practice groups (including those with and without a dedicated KM lawyer or counsel)
  • Developing and documenting knowledge plans to support the behaviors, processes, people, investment, content, and systems for knowledge capture and knowledge sharing in the given product area, practice, or office
  • Liaising with Technology as to the configuration and implementation of knowledge management databases and other tools, eliciting requirements from the given practice or office and working with Technology to ensure timely delivery
  • Assisting attorneys and KM colleagues to implement efficient and effective knowledge capture and knowledge sharing initiatives and to take advantage of resources and best practice that is available to them outside their local context
  • Training attorneys and KM colleagues as to the use, scope, and availability of the firm’s knowledge management resources
  • Assisting with and delivering knowledge skills training for attorneys and KM colleagues including use of the knowledge management databases and best practices relating to the creation of standard forms and guidance resources, capturing and organization of precedent and work product, and the production of current awareness
  • Staying abreast of market trends and emerging systems and services, working collaboratively with the Emerging Technology team to identify, assess, and review new tools and technologies in support of the firm’s knowledge management objectives
  • Providing ad-hoc support on initiatives and projects managed centrally
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers

About you
We’d love to hear from you if you:


  • Possess extensive knowledge of legal documents and legal practice
  • Display the ability to communicate to attorneys and other firm colleagues about available resources and promote a culture of knowledge sharing and use of KM
  • Have advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

And have:


  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant knowledge management consultancy and/or legal business or data analytics experience within a leading international law firm or large professional services firm

Compensation & Benefits
Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also receive a generous and competitive total compensation package. The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location. Discretionary bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance — and profit-sharing partnership contributions to 401(k) accounts may be given based on firm performance.
