KITCHEN MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced kitchen manager to oversee the daily operations of our health food cafe and juice bar staff. As the kitchen manager, you will be responsible for overseeing food and beverage preparation, ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, and monitoring inventory levels.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be health-oriented and have proven culinary and management experience. A combination of experience as a cook and administration skills make the ideal candidate. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding customer service, leadership, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities:

● Assists in all food and beverage service operations as well as day-to-day operations of the kitchen.

● Assists in the implementation and management of kitchen and restaurant policies and procedures.

● Completes the duties of a line cook when needed, and is capable of performing the duties of all kitchen positions.

● Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand.

● Supervise kitchen employees and organize food orders.

● Oversee the food preparation and cooking process.

● Oversees and approves training and development of kitchen staff.

● Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.

● Ensures products are stored at the correct temperatures and the recipe books are up to date with current menu items, portions, and ingredients.

● Schedule work shifts for employees.

● Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized.

● Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports.

● Monitors labor costs to attain budgeted goals within restaurant policies and procedures.

● Suggest new menu items based on customers' preferences and feedback.

● Anticipates, identifies, and corrects any issues with inventory, systems, and staffing.

● Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local food handling requirements and standards.

Requirements:

● A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.

● In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.

● Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.

● Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.

● Outstanding communication and organizational skills.

● A strong base of culinary knowledge.

● Physical stamina to withstand a full shift potentially on their feet

● Ability to operate POS system

● A food handler's license.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
