We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations at both of our bakery/cafe locations, Flat Rock and Fletcher. Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. Time may be split between the two locations in order to maintain consistency and training at each. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly prepared and served and our customers have a positive dining experience.

Flat Rock and Fletcher Village Bakeries are from scratch bakery/cafes focusing on simple, fresh, and local food. We serve a wide variety of amazing baked goods made and baked in house each morning. We also serve sandwiches, salads, soups, and wood-fired pizzas (Flat Rock only) from our cafe menus. We source many local and organic ingredients to produce high quality food. We are a growing business with 2 locations, and a third location coming later this year in Brevard. We are looking for someone who can help our business grow, and to maintain high quality and consistent food at all locations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • Supervise food prep and cooking
  • Check food plating and temperature
  • Establish portion sizes
  • Schedule kitchen staff shifts
  • Price menu items in collaboration with the owner
  • Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
  • Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
  • Manage menu consistency at both locations
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Chef
  • Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
  • Experience with wood-fired pizzas, salads, and sandwiches
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Conflict management abilities
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
  • Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
