Our statewide premier kayak tour company is expanding in the Weeki Wachee area! We are looking for outgoing, eco-loving individuals as tour guides!

• Our kayak ecotours are done in 100% clear kayaks, and we are the only one of its kind in the area. This role will include facilitating an amazing experience for guests on a 2 to 2.5-hour ecotour! Guides assist with our kayaking operations, including setup, cleanup, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will interact with guests during check-in, assist with loading and unloading kayak tours, and engage with guests during the tour with a friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming attitude.

Qualifications:

• Do you love kayaking and paddling boarding and want to teach it to others? You must be comfortable instructing groups of up to 10 people. We host small tours (1-5 kayaks) and strive for a personal learning experience for our guests that includes a paddling lesson and boating safety!
• Enjoy sharing your stories, experiences and knowledge of the Florida wilderness, flora and fauna with others!
• Have a passion and patience for inspiring others to try new things like kayaking for the first time!
• Promote responsible ecotourism practices- we don't exit our kayaks and love teaching others how to practice passive observation!
• Available 2-4 days per week and be willing to work weekend nights and feel comfortable leading tours on the water at night for our sunset and glow tours.
• If not already certified, you must be willing to complete certifications in CPR/BLS and wilderness first aid.
• Must be able to load and unload several kayaks on and off of a trailer multiple times a day.
• Must be able to carrying the kayaks several hundreds yards by foot.
• Able to lift 60 pounds multiple times a day.
• A passion for being outdoors and willingness to learn and teach others.
• Students are welcome to apply - perfect for students studying conservation, Florida Master Naturalist, or teachers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging and amazing guided ecotours at our Weeki Wachee location including trips to the Gulf of Mexico, Sunset and Glow tours.
• Provide relevant information about the tour focusing on the ecosystem and wildlife that call this area home.
• Provide a paddling lesson that includes boating and wildlife safety!
• Ensure safety for all guests and help assist in paddling technique and skill.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Provide high-quality and professional customer service.
• Maintain a CPR/BLS certification.
• Complete the Wilderness First Aid course. (Course fee is provided to qualified candidates)
