Here's how it works.

• Provide us with simple information about yourself and your experience in dialysis.
• We verify your information and will conduct an interview to make sure you have what it takes.
• Once that is all said and done, you will become our newest HERO!

To Qualify for KARE 4 KIDNEYS you'll need...

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• Active CHT/CCHT or BONENT certification
• All appropriate state licensure education and training required
  • Proof of facility orientation program & dialysis training program
• Read, write, speak and understand the English language

Responsibilities of KARE 4 KIDNEYS CCHTs may include:

• Work under the supervision of nephrology nurses (nurses who are trained to help people with kidney disease)
• Clean, disinfect dialysis chairs before and after each patient
• Before treatment, weigh patients, check vital signs like heart rate and blood pressure, will also ask questions about the patient's health and whether or not they experienced any problems after their last dialysis session and charted in patient's health record
• Program the dialysis machine to the patient's settings, assess and prepare the vascular access and connect the dialysis tubing to the access
• Monitor the patient and check vital signs every half hour as well as monitor the dialysis machine for the entire treatment time
• After treatment, take the patient off the machine and weigh them again
