Currently, Studio X is comprised of three distinct offerings:

• • XCover offers new ways of utilizing technology and talent to solve complex energy problems. We create pathways to accelerate results for energy projects, and enable innovation to go further, faster.
  • Xeek unleashes our data science community to solve difficult energy challenges. Working with Xeek gives you exposure to thousands of different experiences and perspectives from around the world that are simply not available in any one company.
  • SixLab is a startup accelerator focused on energy innovation. Participants can leverage the skills and experience of the Studio X community, the tools and platform of Xeek, and the AI/ML innovation from our core data and geoscience teams.

What You'll Do

The Xeek Data Scientist will support the development and launching of data science challenges on the Xeek platform. In this role, you will work with stakeholders to understand their requirements for a challenge and how to communicate it to a community of data scientists. Your insights and skills will be needed in maturing challenges toward launch, ensuring that the end products of a challenge meet the stakeholders desired outcomes and that the challenges are engaging for the Xeek Community. This role needs the ability to pick up new technical disciplines and data types, good attention to detail, and communication skills to be successful. This role will report to the Director of Xeek.

Your responsibilities will include:

• • Help define and uncover the scope of a challenge through discussions with stakeholders
  • Work with Xeek Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure that the elements for a challenge are robust and ready for timely launches.
  • Develop of multiple challenges at different levels of maturity
  • Help communicate with the Xeek Community through forum discussions and support tickets.
  • Find new and creative ways to introduce data and concepts to stakeholders and Community members.

What You'll Bring

• • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a role where your primary responsibility was building machine learning models
  • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies and scientific disciplines
  • Self-starter - can make progress independently
  • A strong background in data science as well as fluency in Python
  • Excellent collaboration for engaging both internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate effectively to deliver requirements for product and engineering teams

Additional Attributes

• • Experience solving complex problems for stakeholders
  • AWS experience, especially SageMaker
  • Ability to prototype ideas from different scientific disciplines quickly
  • Work experience with Python. Other languages are a plus
  • Clear documentation background
  
  

Education

• • MS/PhD degree or equivalent practical experience. BS minimum

Time Commitment / Travel Requirements

• • Full-time
  • Preferred location: Austin, Remote for the right candidate
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
