* BENEFITS after 30 days of full-time employment

Performing routine maintenance and a variety of repairs on company vehicles. This position is crucial to the safe and productive operation of the company’s fleet.

Responsibilities: Mechanics' job duties are but are not limited to:

• Small repair and maintenance on tractor trailer, front-end loader, roll-off and other site vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repairing engines, chassis and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspensions systems, wheels and tires.
• Road test vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or test repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.
• Reads and interprets VCR’s (vehicle condition reports) and/or repair orders.
• Communicates with drivers for clarification of problems. May discuss preventive techniques with drivers to minimize future repairs.
• Maintains clean truck always.
• Interacts with customers and/or the public with courteously and respect.
• Notifies supervisor of issues requiring management intervention.
• Makes emergency road calls to make repairs on trucks and trailers that break down.
• Maintains a tidy and safe shop area.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Able to safely operate an overhead crane system.
• Able to safely operate a forklift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Willing to work second shift.

Qualifications:

• Mechanic experience, diesel preferred.
• Valid driver's license, CDL a plus.
• Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations is preferred
• 10-speed manual transmission a PLUS
• Competitive pay

• 1+ years experience and knowledge of mechanical processes and techniques.
• Willing to learn.
