POSITION SUMMARY:

The E&I Technician inspects, tests, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical and instrumentation for production and process equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:

  • Provide inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance services for electrical equipment with voltages ranging from 0 to 161,000V.
  • Identify and resolve electrical problems, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment including but not limited to: motors (all types), starters, breakers, transformers, isolation switches, relays, fuses, resistors, air conditioning, valves, AC Drives, DC Drives, electrical cable, fiber optic cable, coaxial cable, conduit, receptacles, PLC’s, heaters, control panels, lights & lighting panels, cranes or other lifting devices, distributive controls, fire & emergency alarms.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment including but not limited to transmitters (all types), valves, I/P, positioners, actuators, dampers, flow meters, tubing, O2, PH, conductivity, RTD, thermocouple, infrared, 412 monitors, H2S monitors, SO2 monitors, and continuous emissions monitoring.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, Motor Controls and HMIs
  • Familiarity with common industrial voltages.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD)
  • Knowledge of SCADA and PLC programming
  • Ability to read, and understand technical manuals, specifications, drawings, and blueprints

Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions

  • Having a working knowledge of instrumentation for measurement and control of pressure, temperature, flow, and level

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years’ experience working in the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) field; DCS, PLC, Electric Drive, and Power Distribution Systems
  • E/I must be able to operate equipment including but not limited to cranes (mobile and stationary), fork trucks, and other lifting devices.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Willingness to work any shift or schedule

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in Electrical-Instrumentation Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Working experience in process industrial maintenance
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, operating in a team environment

PLUS: Must be willing to meet the following requirements:

  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends
  • Wear required safety equipment
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)

  • Port Angeles, WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate to Port Angeles, WA with an employer-provided relocation package before starting work (Required)
