Summary

Kitsap Credit Union is hiring an IT Systems Engineer to work out of our Harborside location. This position serves as the liaison between Information Technology, vendor application support, and internal stakeholders. The Systems Engineer will focus on understanding, maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing business application and Microsoft cloud administration to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.

Typical Job Duties

  • Develop subject matter expertise on the current and new methods of operation, best practices, and how enhancements and new applications will affect operations.
  • Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot operating systems, business applications, Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and M365.
  • Plan, pilot, communicate, and schedule the install and upgrades of operating systems, business applications, system management tools, Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and M365.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of on premise and cloud systems availability.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with vendors/developers to implement those fixes.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies, including covering for others during out-of-office periods.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject such as Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, or any combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in all phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience understanding of systems installation, support principles, resolving issues, including analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, suite of cloud offerings, containerization, backups, and recovery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Information Security practices and Security Incident Management, IT infrastructure planning and development, and ITIL v4 certification required or obtained within six months.
  • Previous experience in a financial institution.
