Under the direct supervision of the Director, Audit & Advisory Services, the Internal Auditor will assist in all aspects of the audit process, from risk assessment and the development of the audit plan, audit execution, reporting, assessment of deficiencies, and remediation of identified issues. This includes financial and operational audits, as well as advisory engagements. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for various tasks relating to the Model Audit Rule, including performing walkthroughs, internal control testing, and providing assistance to the external financial statement auditors as required.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field from an accredited college or university;
• Two to five years of full-time experience in auditing, accounting, business analysis, or financial management;
• Health insurance experience;
• Experience with internal control design/testing;
• Microsoft Office Skills;

• Public speaking/presentation, verbal skills and writing skills.

Desired:

• CPA, CIA or CFE certification.
• Master's degree in Accounting and/or relevant field.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in development of annual audit plan;
• Assist in design of approach for annual Model Audit Rule procedures (walkthroughs, internal control testing, identification of/follow-up on deficiencies) and take the lead in execution of said procedures;
• Coordinate external audit activities, including but not limited to financial statement, SOC 1, and other audits;
• Prepare written documentation summarizing the results of audit procedures;
• Assist in execution of the advisory services workplan;
• Research laws, regulations, policies and standards applicable to assigned audit procedures;
• Establish and maintain relationships with business owners across the organization;
• Execute process improvement/advisory engagements;
• Execute on both financial and operational audits.
