The County of Riverside's University Health System - Behavioral Health, is seeking candidates to fill a regular Insurance Billing Clerk position for their Patient Accounting Department. This position is located in Riverside.

Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform fiscal clerical work processing and billing fiscal intermediaries for medical services rendered to patients. The incumbent will also perform such duties as prepare and review claim files, verify insurance coverage, enter and correct insurance guarantor and payor financial data in the billing system (Avatar/ELMR), review pre-billing reports and denied claims, identify errors and correct., assist clients with billing questions; and to do other work as required.

Positions in this class are utilized in departments providing medical or health services and are assigned to billing units responsible for preparing and reviewing billing to third party fiscal intermediaries. Positions in this class are involved in working with medical billing documents, reviewing and verifying insurance accounts against third party billing program provisions and procedures. Incumbents in this class are expected to solve routine problems without assistance while unusual problems are referred to a supervisor.

Candidates with previous experience working in a medical office and with Avatar (ELMR) are highly desired.

This position has the following schedule: 9/80 schedule, with Payday Friday off; Monday-Thursday, 7:30am - 5:00pm, and Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm.

Shift Differentials:
3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. sixty cents (0.60¢) per hour
11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. twenty cents ($1.20) per hour
**Employees who work day shift between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. shall not be entitled to a shift differential.**
