Job description

We are looking for Camp Instructors to teach young campers in a variety of topics, including music, art, sports, creative writing, etc. What do Instructors do? The most important out of all Instructor duties is provide a welcoming environment for campers to learn something new or continue to practice their talents. Instructors will discuss their areas of expertise (for example, music or art) with the Day Camp Director to determine what classes you would be best suited to teach. You’ll be responsible for planning and executing lessons for your classes. The job duties of an Instructor include planning lessons, instructing campers, and ensuring campers are enjoying their time at camp. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of an Instructor. If you’re patient, energetic but strict when needed, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons for your assigned classes
• Lead educational activities in your area of expertise
• Assist in other tasks as assigned by Day Camp Director including, lunch monitor, cover a class, etc.

Skills

• Proven experience as an Instructor or similar role working with children
• Patient and reliable
• Organizational and communication skills
• A love for children
• Energetic and positive personality
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities)

Chatham Music & Arts Day Camp takes place from June 20th-July 28th, M-F.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
