Job Summary:
Commercial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a commercial site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. The duties of this role include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks, and providing on-site direction when preparing commercial job sites.

Schedule and Availability:

  • Weekdays during normal business hours from 7am to 4pm

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and training for Installation team members
  • Answer questions about the Install process when needed
  • Ensure quality assurance with all jobs completed
  • Enforce safety measures within the team
  • Dedicate time to ensure jobsite etiquette to ensure Pella Installation team members are properly representing the Pella brand

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule
  • Work with Safety Officer to be responsible for site safety. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies
  • Work with the project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations
  • Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation
  • Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
  • Review submittals for compliance with project manual and plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards applicable to the system
  • Conduct onsite meeting with relevant personnel
  • Oversee partnerships with contractors, including coordinating work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
  • Partner with Installation Manager to review cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
  • Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other management to determine budget and timeline
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
  • Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
  • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented and ability to multitask

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

  • Five years in construction industry required
  • One year of window and door installation experience required
  • Trim carpentry experience preferred
  • Familiar with power tools

Mathematical and Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting tape measure
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to work in fractions and decimals

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft suite
  • Must be familiar with smart devices
  • Ability to learn and utilize proprietary Pella software programs and applications and other business critical applications

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to communicate via phone and email in a timely manner
  • Strong customer relation skills
  • Ability to communicate regularly with appropriate company stakeholders

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, type or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, or crouch
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must be comfortable with heights as some jobs may include ladder or scaffolding work

  • Work environment with this job includes company warehouse facilities and customer job sites
  • The noise level of this job is typically moderate to loud
  • Temperature fluctuates with seasons
  • This employee is frequently exposed to power tools and moving mechanical parts
