Summary – basic function of the role


The Information Security Operations Analyst is a hands-on technical position responsible for monitoring and managing Enerpac’s information and cyber security systems. The Information Security Operations Analyst will be responsible to maintain optimal configurations for security tools and software, analyze and assess vulnerabilities in the infrastructure (software, hardware, operating systems), investigate available tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions and best practices. They will perform tests of the current infrastructure for compliance with security policies and procedures, and assist in the creation, implementation, and/or management of security solutions as instructed by the Vice President of IT and the Manager - Information Security.

Shift: Monday – Friday; 8 – 4:30 pm or 8:30 – 5:00 pm; flexible. Night or weekend work may be required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Monitor vulnerability management platforms to identify high risk assets and prevalent system vulnerabilities.
  • Perform tasks and activities to reduce vulnerability risks.
  • Lead control assurance activities to prepare enterprise for yearly regulatory audits
  • Assist Information Security team in vulnerability analysis, root cause analysis and determining high-impact vulnerability remediations.
  • Generate reports for System Administrators and Information Security team to highlight areas of high risk.
  • Update Information Security risk register on a regular basis.
  • Monitor Information Security dashboards, as assigned. E.g., End Point Protection, MDR, Vulnerability Management Platform.
  • Respond to security events and incidents, as assigned. Document resolutions and investigative findings as appropriate.
  • Conduct proof of concept activities and help evaluate for new security systems/tools as a part of Information Security goals.
  • Help other IT team members integrate and implement security into their areas of operation. Promote a culture of information security best practices.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly information security metrics and status reports, as assigned.
  • Build up professional competency and development through continuing education and training. Keep up to date with industry trends.

Skills and Competencies


  • Solid understanding of firewalling concepts, network architecture, wireless technologies, cloud services, server level security, web server security, end point security and mobile device security.
  • Knowledge of Desktop Operating System configurations and endpoint security products
  • Ability to identify risk and remediation steps for Windows and Linux server environments
  • Experience with SIEM and EDR platforms.
  • Knowledge of application security and secure coding practices.
  • Ability to lead individual and group training events for Information Security best practices.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
    • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Flexible during times of change.
    • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

Education and Experience

Education Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science, information systems or business administration.
  • Information Security Certifications such as CISSP, SANS GCIH, SANS GPEN, or SANS GCFA a plus

Experience Requirements:

  • 2-4 years experience of direct work experience in Information Security Operations, or related IT field is required.

Physical Demands

Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.


Work Environment

Primary work environment is temperature controlled office setting but may also be visiting different manufacturing facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to low levels of noise in an office.
