We are looking for anexperienced Maintenance Electrician Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems in an efficient and safe manner throughout the facility. This position is responsible for preventative and mechanical maintenance and must possess knowledge of machine repair. A successful candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical and PLC manufacturing background and possesses the ability to read and understand ladder logic and program HMIs. Candidates must be able to complete and pass an electrical board and PLC programming hands-on assessment.

Schedule: Members of our Columbus Steel Maintenance team are part of a monthly rotation schedule. Each month, team members will work either 1st shift (Mon-Thurs. 6a-4p), 2nd shift (Mon-Fri. 2p-10p), 3rd shift (Sun-Thurs. 10p-6a) or weekends (Fri-Sun. 6a-6p). Team members have the flexibility to trade shifts, hold shifts if available, and work overtime if desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs typical preventative maintenance on all machinery as assigned
• Successfully troubleshoots and repairs typical mechanical and electrical problems
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic hardware, circuits, and can comprehend prints
• Recognizes, evaluates and solves typical problems that can occur in own work
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• PLC basics, wiring PLC, comprehends and understands ladder logic
• Intermediate relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC & SLC and motor control circuits
• Electrical schematic and comprehends prints
• Provides mentoring and on the job training to lower level technicians
• Perform basic electricity in order to work in maintenance field safely
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to use all maintenance tools with little to no guidance
• Capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints
• Willingness to develop maintenance skillset
• Basic understanding of start/stop operation
• High school diploma or GED
• Electrical degree or certification desired
