The Scale People / Lab People, Inc., an analytical equipment service company, is looking for a new team member to join our growing calibration services division. We are a family-owned company that cares about our employees and customers.

This job is for entry-level applicants looking for a long-term career. No previous experience is necessary; all training will be provided. This position will be in our calibration lab in Columbia, Maryland.

Your Responsibility:

  • Calibrate, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory measurement equipment at The Scale People’s Columbia, MD calibration laboratory.
  • Accurately document data for service reports to ensure data integrity via company-issued laptop
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain an organized schedule to complete various work orders on time.
  • Manage pickups, drop-offs, and shipping/receiving of customer laboratory equipment.
  • Manage the inventory of parts needed for calibration and/or repair of laboratory equipment.
  • Communicate and coordinate with manufacturers when extensive repairs are needed

Requirements:

  • Perform repetitive tasks daily
  • Sit for an extended period
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs and/or 25 kg test weight

What you need to succeed:

  • High School Graduate OR GED – Associates degree preferred
  • A positive attitude and team mentality
  • Self starter who enjoys working independently
  • Enthusiasm for learning and aptitude to pick up skills quickly
  • Excellent customer service skills, detail-oriented, and outstanding verbal, and written communication skills
  • Aptitude and passion for working with your hands
  • A valid driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
