Ice Rink Cashier
Job Description:
We are looking for Hourly and Seasonal Ice Rink Cashiers to provide customer service and cash handling and exchange to patrons at the Gallivan Utah Center Ice Rink.
These positions do not include benefits. In addition, these positions require holiday and weekend work. Position hours will range between 20 to 28 hours per week.
Early application submittal is encouraged. These positions will remain open until filled and may close at any time without notice.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Greets patrons and accepts rink admission fees and rental fees for skates and lockers.
- Retrieves & puts skates back in proper spaces.
- Answers all phone calls.
- Stocks cup dispenser, merchandise cabinet and assists with maintaining cleanliness of the rental building area.
- Assist in assuring that rink rules are obeyed.
- Keeps the register key with them at all times. Counts money from shift and drops in safe. Follows Salt Lake City Corporation’s cash handling requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year cashiering experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, supervisors and other employees.
- Strong clerical aptitude and knowledge of customer service standards.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Current certification in standard First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or be able to obtain within 10 days of hire.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position requires moderate physical activity. Required to push, pull, or lift medium weights. The person in this position needs to sit, stand, crouch and bend within a retail service environment as well as outdoors. Occasional exposure to disagreeable elements such as workplace conditions, poor ventilation, uneven temperatures, or extreme weather conditions.
- Intermittent stress as a result of human behavior.
- Varied hours. May require early morning, midday, evening, weekend, or holiday hours.
