We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for Instrument and Electrical equipment within our plant. This position is responsible for performing daily tasks as part of a team to ensure safe, productive, reliable, and cost-efficient maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. In addition, this position provides field level support for reliability efforts, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Instrumentation/ Electrician person’s responsibilities are as follows:

    Leveraging your education in instrumentation and electrical to troubleshoot and repair I/E tasks and execute those tasks in a quality manner to avoid rework Your unwavering commitment to practice safety and housekeeping in the performance of job duties and participate in 5S activities to maintain a clean and orderly work area. Performs routine maintenance, installation, and integration of various types of process control instrumentation equipment Make repairs to electrical power, motor, and motor control circuits. Develops, prepares, and presents recommendations and reports as requested Field fault analysis – determines if an instrument has failed or if it is a process problem Field calibration of instrumentation utilizing proper test equipment Repair of signal transmission facility such as tubing, wiring, etc. Instrumentation to include pneumatic, electronic, and digital equipment Fault analysis of hard wire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (120V to 480V, 3phase), VFD, and common utility/lighting circuits Installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load, and Implementation of new control logic Fault analysis of PLC-based systems Working with outside vendors to troubleshoot various equipment Be an active member that participates in craft level feedback – i.e., visual board updates, provides support for the reliability effort, participates in RCFA, identifies potential bad actors and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent


If you have the following work experience, knowledge, and skills…

    Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Required: 2-year Instrumentation/Electrical degree and 2 or more years I/E experience or in lieu of instrumentation degree, 5+ years industrial instrumentation and electrical experience Preferred - 5+ years I/E field experience in the industrial electrical and instrumentation field Must be able to read and interpret SDS’s Demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication. Must have the ability to interpret schematic drawings (to component level) of pneumatic loops, hardware relay logic diagrams, PLC control programs, motor control circuit diagrams, etc. Must associate circuit symbols with actual components to include solid-state electronics (transistors, integrated chips, resistors, capacitors, etc.) and common industrial electrical hardware (relays, contactors, starters, etc.). The ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals. Able to review and interpret P&ID’s Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Tools - Word, Excel, Outlook) Perform the required tasks in SAP to document actual time spent, Change work orders status codes to applicable status (RCLS, RTRN or INPL) SIS – Safety Instrumented Systems experience
Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift 50 pounds, and occasionally move awkward configured equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

    10-hour shift Day shift Monday to Thursday 40+ hour week (OT will fluctuate)
Note: This job includes overtime and potential of working during holidays and weekends.
