Position Summary

Under general supervision, perform journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, and repair of mechanical HVAC equipment and perform all other related work as required. This position is required maintaining, troubleshoot, repairing/or replacing equipment as needed. Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time, and materials for HVAC projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of an HVAC shop; clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
Minimum Qualifications
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY; OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK. SOME POSITIONS MAY REQUIRE SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION. OPTIONAL GUIDELINES: EXPERIENCE IN THE TRADE AREA RELATED TO THE AREA OF ASSIGNMENT MAY BE SUBSTITUTED ON A YEAR-FOR-YEAR BASIS.
