Qualifications /Educational Requirements:
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year hotel or retail experience
  • Minimum of two years of proven generalist HR experience
  • Influencing, persuading, coaching, and negotiating skills
  • Confident managing HR and advising managers on all aspects of people management and development
  • Highly experienced and is up to date with all aspects of current employment law and HR best practices
  • Prior experience using HR/Accounting software highly desired.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Aid department heads with recruiting, onboarding, team member engagement, training, and development by fully utilizing tools such as Predictive Index, internal and brand training, and other resources.
  • Assist department heads in designing hiring plans based on seasonal needs.
  • Prepares team members for success by establishing and conducting engaging orientation and training programs.
  • Assists with team member benefits enrollment and educates and informs team members of all company benefits.
  • Assists GM and department heads with managing annual performance review and discretionary compensation increases.
  • Review and monitor turnover, overtime and other reports and implement approved programs to help control labor (e.g., retention and recognition programs). Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Ensures, follows, and completes team member I-9’s as required by federal law.
  • Maintains the required state and federal law poster compliance at property location.
  • Oversee process to ensure team members are accurately adhere to attendance and work schedules, including paid time off, overtime and breaks.
  • Ensure team members comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Aids General Manager and department heads counseling and disciplining team members; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Assist General Manager and department heads with team member complaints and grievances.
  • Oversees process and submission of Work Comp, Property and Guest Liability incidents to the HUB.
  • Plans engaging rallies for recognition of team members throughout the year.
  • Schedules, plans, and is involved with the yearly community activities calendar in coordination with General Manager and organizations chosen.
  • Lead by example in company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Updates team member break room monthly for upcoming events, etc.
  • Know and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Ability to work under high levels of pressure and under deadlines.
  • Must have proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
Hours:
  • Due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements of the Position:
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves sitting most of the time.
  • May be required to lift in the excess of 40 pounds on occasion.
Work Conditions:
  • Inside work environment. Not substantially exposed to adverse conditions.
