Position: Human Resource Manager
Location: 15903 Emerson Ave Waverly WV, 26184
Reports to: Vice President of Administration
Direct reports: HR Generalist/Assistant, Payroll Manager
Position Profile
Position Summary:
Human resources manager plans, coordinates, and directs the administrative functions of the organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization's management and its employees.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
- Develop of working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and monitor compliance
- Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
- Maintain competitive compensation data for all positions based on market research and pay surveys
- Participate in the management of the employee benefit programs
- Serve as a consultant to advise other managers on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment
- Coordinate and supervise the work of specialists and support staff
- Handle staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures
Candidate Profile
Attributes & Characteristics:
The successful candidate will have the following attributes & characteristics:
- Team Player with Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Hands-on manager, willing to tackle any assignment
- Proficient Organizer with the ability to think outside of normal parameters & multi-task.
- Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork
- Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning
Experience:
- Min 5-7 Years in Human Resources leadership role
- Manufacturing, Contracting or Industrial Service Experience a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource, Labor Relations or Organizational Development
- Relevant work experience may be a substitute
