Position: Human Resource Manager

Location: 15903 Emerson Ave Waverly WV, 26184

Reports to: Vice President of Administration

Direct reports: HR Generalist/Assistant, Payroll Manager

Position Profile

Position Summary:

Human resources manager plans, coordinates, and directs the administrative functions of the organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization's management and its employees.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
  • Develop of working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and monitor compliance
  • Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
  • Maintain competitive compensation data for all positions based on market research and pay surveys
  • Participate in the management of the employee benefit programs
  • Serve as a consultant to advise other managers on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of specialists and support staff
  • Handle staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures

Candidate Profile

Attributes & Characteristics:

The successful candidate will have the following attributes & characteristics:

  • Team Player with Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; able to apply these strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on manager, willing to tackle any assignment
  • Proficient Organizer with the ability to think outside of normal parameters & multi-task.
  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning

Experience:

  • Min 5-7 Years in Human Resources leadership role
  • Manufacturing, Contracting or Industrial Service Experience a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource, Labor Relations or Organizational Development
  • Relevant work experience may be a substitute
