We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with outstanding people skills to manage our personnel and ensure that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives. Duties for the HR Generalist will include supporting HR clerks at our different locations, dealing with employee grievances and disputes, supporting employee development, enhancing job satisfaction, forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, working together with broker to structure benefit packages, maintaining employee records, managing workers compensation claims, managing benefits open enrollments, and overseeing overall employees needs.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The exceptional HR Generalist should improve HR processes, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employers, manage job satisfaction, attract the best recruits, and promote the organization's values.

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge to develop and implement human resources policies.
  • Knowledge in recruitment, onboarding, and selection of staff.
  • Manages background screenings and consults upper management on results
  • Travel 25% of the time to provide support to our different locations in Rockledge, Jensen Beach, Moultrie, and Albany, Georgia.
  • Knowledge of new Staff orientation and occupational health and safety training
  • Knowledge in union negotiations.
  • Communicates directly and handles cases with insurance company related to FLS fleet accidents.
  • Motivating and supporting current staff.
  • Manages Workers Compensation cases.
  • Manages Unemployment claims and appeals.
  • Requests staff uniforms and recovers company property
  • Coordinates Benefits Annual Open Enrollment for all locations, together with broker.
  • HR Records Management.
  • Identifying staffing needs, creating job descriptions, offer letters and non-compete agreements for supervisory positions.
  • Knowledge of disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations.
  • Recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Knowledge of managing all types leave of absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • At least 10 years of human resource management experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred, but not necessary.
