Job Description

Classified Human Resource Assitant District Office 40 hours a week
This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, 260 days per year. The specific work schedule will be determined upon hire. The hourly rate of pay, based upon experience is $17.34 - $21.97 an hour. The District pays the full premium for medical, dental and vision $50,000 life insurance and employee assistant plan benefits for the employee, and the position is participates in the PERSI retirement system. Employees have the option to add dependents to benefits.
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, you will provide assistance to the Human Resource Director with support for the District Personnel.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Posting and maintaining employment announcements
  • Onboarding - including but not limited to, new hire paperwork, fingerprinting, assisting with benefit enrollment/changes, setting up and maintaining employee profiles, and assisting with orientations
  • Assist with contracts and data entry
  • Assist with certified staff credit reviews
  • Assist with the interview and hiring process, ensuring proper procedures are followed
  • Maintain Personnel Files
  • Assist in providing various HR support to Administrators, Certified Staff, and Classified Staff
  • Assist with State Reporting
  • Assist with updating and maintaining handbooks
  • Scanning and filing
  • Assist in preparing various correspondence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma and minimum three years of Administrative Assistant or Human Resource Experience
  • Good public relation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and reports
  • High level of competence in typing, filing, and general computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of automated office equipment and efficient office procedures
  • Strong telephone skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Work well with staff and the general public
  • Work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
  • Growth mindset
  • Adept at building capacity and empowering self-efficacy in others
  • Model integrity, authenticity, transparency, responsible leadership, ethical supervision and the highest standard of professionalism
