What will I do as a HR Generalist?

Here are just some of the things you will do in this role:
  • Act as communication conduit to store management and DM’s, HR Operations on HR policies and legal compliance and the potential impact at their facility.
  • Assist the management team with all required forms and notifications for various Human Resources related information such as, new hire, terminations, and promotions.
  • Serve as the support to HR Operations and their team advice/counsel to managers regarding personnel practices, policies, and employment laws.
  • Partner with corporate HR stakeholders for all human resource operations including benefits, ADA compliance, workers compensation and safety.
  • Coach employees and store managers on work-related issues and make recommendations to help resolve unique employment issues.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on hard to fill locations or identify store level engagement processes improvements.
  • Conduct investigations in a fair, thorough, and timely manner and attend corrective action meetings when needed.
  • Coordinate and participate in the exit interview process to compile measurable data relevant to turnover and attrition.
  • Administer HR programs and processes efficiently and effectively including but not limited to talent development, total rewards, communications, and staffing.
  • Promote and encourage positive working relationships with and between employees as well as external contacts; assist in organizing and managing employee events including engagement activities.
  • Coordinate execution of company diversity initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
You will be a great fit for this role if you have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field of study
  • 4+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • 2+ years of experience working with local, state, and federal laws governing recruiting and employment issues.
  • The ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff, including executives with competencies that include, but are not limited to excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
  • A history of being organized and accurate with information and communication.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential.
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned areas to visit states/stores we operate in.

Physical Environment
This position involves sedentary work in a professional, office setting while exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Also includes activities such as occasional bending or reaching.
