Posting Summary
Coordinate and implement university employee recognition events and programs to recognize and reward performance and service in an effort to enhance the UVM Common Ground culture and celebrate institutional successes. Identify areas of employee recognition and rewards interest and assist in developing programs to engage these interests, enhance morale and foster a spirit of community. Develop, implement, and maintain a calendar of appreciation and recognition events and programs. Ensure that employee recognition events and programs are properly organized and effectively communicated. Prepare pre and post event documentation and maintain an effective mechanism to track and monitor projects. Work collaboratively and effectively with various departments (Senior Leadership, HR Leadership, Finance, University Events Services, Outside Vendor Food & Beverage, etc.). Provide timely and accurate financial and tax reporting and analysis to the Finance/Payroll Department on awards and recognition programs. Provide direct support to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and to other leadership in Human Resource Services (HRS). Schedule meetings, and coordinate a range of events and trainings, including collective bargaining, executive searches, and staff appreciation. Serve as the point of contact for HR vendors and resolve issues related to billing and services. The University-wide scope and confidential/sensitive nature of the activities of the office are essential aspects of the position. Reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of administrative support or event planning experience required. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and web applications. Working knowledge of budget tracking and reporting. Effective organizational, project tracking and communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed work environment. Ability to work independently to identify and resolve problems directly or by identifying appropriate resources. Demonstrated success working with a range of culturally and ethnically diverse populations, and evidence of commitment of fostering a collaborative multicultural environment.

Desirable Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat highly desirable. Experience tracking tasks and projects, and/ or providing direct administrative support for large institutional projects desirable.

Occasional overtime/weekend hours required, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees
