Position Summary:

This position will serve as a strategic HR consultant to various client groups while supporting the HR operations function. This position reports to the HR Manager. This is a hybrid (in-office and remote) position based in Washington, DC.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Partner with client group leaders to ensure client needs and objectives align with HR programs and solutions and provide support to meet these needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to day-to-day HR inquiries, including performance management, policies and procedures, compensation, HR reporting/analysis, and employee surveys.
  • Utilize HR metrics to identify areas of opportunity, develop related reports, and devise action plans across various client groups.
  • Coach business leaders on HR policies and procedures, including talent management, learning and development, and performance management.
  • Partner with Learning and Development on training initiatives to meet client needs and objectives.
  • Partner with business leaders and recruiting on workforce planning.
  • Conduct and manage complex employee relations issues while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Conduct exit interviews for senior staff and management and analyze data collected.
  • Support the annual Performance Management Process.
  • Understand and mitigate situations that arise associated with relevant employment laws/policies.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provide backup support to HR Generalist.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • At least 4 years of experience in HR operations and/or HR compliance.
  • Demonstrated employee relations experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, performance management, and federal and multi-state employment laws.
  • Experience partnering with learning and development on training initiatives is a plus.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor with complete respect for confidentiality of sensitive data, discretion, and a customer service perspective.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Professional PHR or SHRM certification preferred
  • Experience with UKG HRIS or Workday is a plus.
  • Prior experience at a management consulting or other professional services firm is highly preferred.
