Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 61 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Associate I in the Human Resources Office. Two full-time contractual positions are available.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, provides departmental support in the performance of specialized Human Resources administrative clerical duties to include processing a variety of HR related documents; report generation; preparing correspondence; and providing exceptional customer service and support to internal and external customers relating to human resources practices and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years clerical experience, one of which must have involved the application of Human Resources policies and procedures. Human Resources/Payroll Information System experience required. Formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Working knowledge of general Human Resources practices and procedures and general knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures to include of business spelling, grammar and punctuation, of modern office practices, procedures systems and equipment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) as well as internet. Ability to understand and interpret Human Resources policies and procedures; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to maintain poise and courtesy under pressure; to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact; to work independently and as part of a team; to plan, organize, prioritize and execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints with general instructions; to perform mathematical computations; and to operate standard office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: PeopleSoft experience preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt contractual position with benefits provided in accordance with the Affordable Care Act, MD Health Working Families Act, Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance. This position is not eligible for the Regular employment benefit program. Starting salary is $18.81 per hour, which is approximately $39,232 annually.
